What is a rainbow baby?

A rainbow baby is a child born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or infant loss. Just like the light of a rainbow only appears after the darkness of a rainy sky, a rainbow baby happens after the pain of a loss.

“A rainbow baby is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never happened or that we are not still dealing with its aftermath. It means something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy, and hope.”

Newborn photography work is filled with joyfully capturing your babies in beautiful images. Unfortunately, not every family welcomes home their baby; one in eight women suffer from infertility and one in four women have experienced a loss.

When a family’s rainbow baby arrives, it was not without that family first experiencing a storm. Through the use of special rainbow items and props, my aim is to honor your rainbow baby’s sibling during the session and hope that these sessions bring some comfort to these families.

As a special gift to parents as they weather their storm, it is my pleasure to be able to give back to them. I gift one family who has suffered such a loss, a newborn mini session each month. The session will include:

Up to a 90 minute studio session with baby-only
Two special rainbow setups designed by the photographer
Three hand-edited, high resolution digital images with 8 x 10″ print release

*All sessions take place at my studio in Londonderry, NH

By signing below, I (Client) am agreeing to allow Fleur Foto Photography (Laura Bower) to share images from my session on social media and for marketing purposes without compensation.

Fleur Foto Photography will retain the full copyright on all images (including digital files) and reserves the right to display, publish, etc. for any reason. Client is prohibited from further editing of images. Client is also prohibited from using photos in contests without written consent from Fleur Foto Photography. Client may not, for any reason sell their images to any third party. Client will be granted printing rights to size 8x10" in writing for 3 complimentary images and is allowed to download and use digital files for printing purposes through me or their chosen vendor (Print quality can only be guaranteed through photographer's preferred professional labs). Additional images or products may be purchased, but Client is under no obligation to do so.
